Hi! My name is Kavita & I am the Founder & Lead Planner at Golden Lantern Events. I've always had  a passion for planning and organizing which has led me to  make lists for just about everything! I first fell in love with the wedding industry after planning my own wedding – and you can say I loved it so much that I re-planned it (okay, a global pandemic may have played a part in that, but nevertheless it was a process I enjoyed doing!). Growing up in a West Indian Guyanese family, there were always celebrations taking place, and the excitement of prepping for a party and the anticipation it brings as the day approaches is something I've always enjoyed. One of the most purest joys is seeing the reaction to what makes someone smile, which transcends perfectly into a world of event planning– because what could be better than making dreams come true while watching it beautifully unfold? With high-quality, integrity and leadership, my team and I focus on fulfilling the needs of our clients to best bring their vision to life while providing an elevated planning experience.

Coupled with a B.H.S. degree in Health Management from York University, I hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as well as a Wedding Planners Institute of Canada Certification. I bring a multitude of knowledge and experience in managing projects from inception to execution including the concept development and design of a South Asian bridal styled shoot that was featured on South Asian Bridal Magazine. I also possess the essential skills in budget management, creative vision and practicality needed to plan a cohesive and cost efficient event.
